I really like the use of the dark colors. It lends such a different feel to the fruit. I'm particularly fond of the dark areas around the fruit. They make them stand out extremely well.

Sherrie - Thank you. The style of Mark Rothko is actually what I was going for, only with my own personality. I will likely do more along these lines at some point. I just need to spend some more time meditating on what I didn't like about this one and fixing it for the next. :)

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. As you all know, it is often difficult to see the good things in your own work. It is the things that you don't like that stand out the most. It helps when others can point out the things that are actually good. It helps for future improvement.

Bravo for trying a new style...that is a very challenging thing to do. I, too like "looser" work but just can't seem to make it work!

The fruit seemed to be challenge for many...mine ended up more like clementines than sunquats...perhaps because the fruit was so perfectly shaped? Don't know.
